J. Hudson Taylor's Autobiography

James Hudson Taylor, born in 1832, has left a legacy and impact on the unreached and unengaged that few others have matched since the time of Paul and the era following Pentecost. His unwavering devotion to exalting Jesus resulted in the establishment of strong foundations (Romans 15:20) that led millions of Chinese believers to trace their faith back to this young man from England. In the first fifteen years of his life, Taylor lived in what he described as blasphemy and unbelief until, at the age of sixteen, he encountered Jesus, thanks to the prayers of his mother and the grace of God. From that moment on, Jesus became Taylor’s primary focus and passion. At just seventeen years old, driven by a vision to magnify Jesus among all people, he committed to a life of mission work in China, the largest unreached nation at the time. In 1865, Taylor founded the China Inland Mission, pioneering targeted and strategic mobilization methods that effectively spread the Gospel of Jesus throughout China, reaching areas where His name had not yet been heard over a millennia after His Ascension.
